American Idol: 3 out of 4 ain't bad
One more correct, and Vegas would have been calling me this morning. I got three right in my picks for “American Idol” contestants to go home last night, and let’s recap how we got there……
First, the awful group number we have to endure each week. This time it was the Black Eyed Peas’ “I Got a Feeling,” and as always it was just ridiculous. But hey, gotta stick to format, right?
Then Ryan Seacrest got right to the results, starting with the...
'American Idol' In 60 Seconds: Alex Lambert, Crystal Bowersox Dominate Top 20
John Park, Haeley Vaughn, Michelle Delamor and Jermaine Sellers bid farewell as quirky girls take the lead. By Jim Cantiello Alex Lambert Photo: Frank Micelotta/ Getty Images “American Idol” in 60 Seconds has fast become an MTV News institution, but it goes by so fast that it’s not always easy to catch every golden nugget. So, here we present to you Jim Cantiello’s bite-size recap of this week’s “Idol” high jinks. This week’s “American...
Jermaine Sellers John Park Michelle Delamor & Haeley Vaughn Voted Off "American Idol"
On tonight's "American Idol" results show four more semifinalists were eliminated from the competition. Tuesday's performance show mixed it up a bit, when the men performed instead of the scheduled women. That was due to a medical issue with Crystal Bowersox, who ended up performing on Wednesday with the rest of the women. Many of the men showed marked improvements from last week including Michael Lynche, Alex Lambert and Tim Urban. The women though continued to outpace the men as Lilly Scott,...
'American Idol' - 'Four Finalists Eliminated' Recap
We're getting rid of another four people this week, getting us ever closer to a Top 12. Are we going to lose who you think we are, or is Vote for the Worst going to come in again and skew the results? These are the questions we have to answer. Well, they're some of the questions we have to answer. We also need to find out if Danny Gokey still has a career, and if we can have more than 70% of the contestants not look completely dead inside during the group sing.
We're going to look at the poll...
'Idol' Power Rankings: Top 16
1. Lilly Scott (Last week: #1): Lilly and Crystal Bowersox are clearly going to be neck and neck throughout the season, but another strong week from Lilly keeps her on top of the rankings. She took on a big, soulful song (”A Change Is Gonna Come”) and unapologetically put her own mark on it — and it was phenomenal, and a truly memorable version of a song that’s been done quite a bit on “Idol,” most recently by a guy named Adam Lambert. Lilly measured up quite...
Ranking the American Idol 9 Top 16 " Siobhan Magnus is #1
Based on Rickey.org reader preferences this week, Siobhan Magnus will win American Idol. Here's the stats:
American Idol: ships passing in the night
Yeah, “Ships passing in the night” is a weird title for a recap of “American Idol.” But what I mean is, some of the ladies’ performances on Wednesday were incredible or at least really good, while others were worse than last week. Some of the women keep climbing, while others are barely hanging on and risk falling off the ladder entirely tonight. Now that I’ve explained myself, let’s get on to the recap of the performances….
THE REALLY GOOD...

'Idol' Crystal Bowersox Hangs in There
American Idol Crystal Bowersox doesn't leave the competition
'American Idol' news roundup for Friday, March 5
What a week! First Fox switches the lineup; the guys survive the switcheroo (barely); Crystal Bowersox gets sick and then better; and four more hopefuls go home (see eulogies here ).
• The buzz online today confirms what our blog said earlier this week, that Crystal Bowersox is dominating the Top 20 . Is this hers to lose? And did America send the right four packing?
• We've had a few weeks now to see Ellen DeGeneres in action, and I can't figure out what she's adding...
American Idol: Elimination Station
Four contestants sang their last song on American Idol. Haeley Vaughn, Michelle Delamor, Jermaine Sellers and John Park were all cut last night after 27 million voters banished them. We have 16 contestants left to pick apart until the next round of eliminations.
In a poll conducted by the NY Daily News , 64% voted Crystal Bowersox their favorite performer so far. Siobhan Mangnus is in second with 17%. Does this give in indication to the future Idol? Possibly. Crystal has been a favorite...

American Idol: And Then There Were 16
The four American Idol contestants who were eliminated from the hit FOX Reality show last night shared thoughts about their future during a press conference call with reporters today. They also revealed their feelings about Crystal Bowersox , who came back to the show after being hospitalized - and then became a front-runner with her earthy version of Creedence Clearwater Revival's "As Long as I Can See the Light." Michelle Delamor said of Crystal, whose illness forced a boy/girl...
'American Idol' Top 10 Men Step It Up
Tuesday night's (March 2) last-minute switcheroo was as good a lesson as any for the "American Idol" top 20 that if you want to be a star, you have to be ready to roll with it. The top 10 women were supposed to perform, but due to an undisclosed illness for Crystal Bowersox - who was under a doctor's orders to take it easy - the men had to step it up and take the stage a night earlier than usual. After last week's poorly received first round of live performances, the boys could only...
American Idol: The Weak That Was
No offense kids, but of all the seasons we've voted our way through, Season 9 is by far the weakest gaggle of wannabes. Without a single breakout-Crystal Bowersox simply stands taller because she sucks the least and performed sick-this crew has given us two consecutive weeks of sorry performances, ill-chosen songs and suprisingly unsurprising eliminations. Honestly, after a few days, it'll be a task to remember who even got sent home last night because they were either completely...
Reason Behind American Idol Switch
There was a change of plans on American Idol this week. On Tuesday, the top 10 female semifinalists were supposed to perform. But due to last minute medical issues with one of the contestants, the top 10 guys took to the stage.
American Idol 2010 Results: Your favorite from top 16
Last night's episode of "American Idol," was the elimination episode . And that meant the viewers had to say goodbye to yet another four contestants. There was a last minute switch-around of the schedule on Tuesday night, due to Crystal Bowersox being hospitalized. So instead of watching the boys perform on Wednesday night as scheduled, viewers go to see them perform on Tuesday instead. That then gave Crystal enough time to recover from the Diabetes scare that had hospitalized her on...

American Idol Highs & Lows: Top 20
again!
The week started with the guys singing in place of the girls, due to Crystal Bowersox's hospitalization. Michael Lynche kicked off the night with a confident and sexy star turn, injecting the show with a much needed dose of "Hey, I wanna win this thing!" As someone who's always thought Michael was more likable than good, I stand pleasantly corrected.
After that rousing performance, Randy said it was really as though the season just started—if only that were true. Viewers...
