There’s nothing worse than watching a trailer for an upcoming movie you’re excited about—only to realize halfway through that the trailer is giving away the entire plot. Glad I saw some of these movies before their trailers. I learned a while back that if the trailer is over 2 minutes long don't watch it. Or if it has a teaser, just watch the teaser.

I guess we will just ignore LotR two towers, where it was revealed that Gandalf was still alive.. in the trailer!

I hate movies that try make a movie seem like it’s about something else. Like Branded and It Comes At Night. 2 of the worst movies I’ve ever seen

'Breakdown' is the worst ever offender in this category. Seriously, it shows the entire movie, in order, leaving no suspense or surprises whatsoever!

I'll add "The Vanishing" with Kiefer Sutherland and Sandra Bullock. The big mystery in the movie is the fate of Bullock's character but they gave it away in the trailer back in the 90s.

Don't forget Spider-Man Homecoming giving away every action scene in It's trailers.

As far as the comment about Castaway having "literally no surprises left", that's definitely not true. If the whole ice skate scene had been in the trailer, then I MIGHT agree, although the uncooked crab was educating to me as well, … and the cut to the hand while trying to make fire drew a flinch and grimace from me.

It was the same with Luc Besson's "Lucy". It's practically everything that's worth a penny from the movie, condensed into 3 minutes. Watching the movie, I felt like I was watching a longer trailer.
